Christopher Skyi
Hi, I'm Christopher Skyi. Welcome to my profile!
I currently work P/T as a freelance Hubspot.com Internet Marketing Certified Professional and a Certified in Google Analytics. I'm currently in the Top Contributor Program for the Google Webmaster forums focusing on search, the technical aspects of SEO and helping small business owners diagnose and deal with traffic drops through technical and advanced SEO techniques. I have strong knowledge of both Google Webmaster Tools & Google Analytics to do periodic technical SEO audits (i.e., making sure a site is optimally search engine friendly & looking for hidden problems and vulnerabilities) and to measure the progress of SEO efforts. I know how to create informative, action-orientated reports by analyzing and understanding web traffic, trends and sales data. I also have a degree in computer science and several years experience in web development and design (i.e., php, ASP.Net, SQL programming, server-side scripting, e.g., perl), so I know how to research and solve issues with websites that can hinder SEO efforts, and I have many years experience with HTML and a wide range of website development tools. I'm also highly experienced with blogs, especially the wordpress platform: I know how to install, configure, customize & modify them. Finally I have over a year's experience managing a large ($120,000) adwords account for a non-profit client.
Christopher Skyi's Background
Christopher Skyi's Experience
SEO Consultant & Financial Writer at Peerform
March 2011 - November 2011
SPECIFIC WORK AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
1. Ranking:
Through a combination of on-page SEO, blog content and link building in the form of guest blogging and commenting on relevant external blogs and sites, peerform.com ranked in the
top ten positions for two of its most important, highly competitive keywords (personal loans & peer lending). I also helped the site rank within the first three pages for six of its most important keywords (Ranking source data: Google Webmaster Tools).
2. Blogging:
I was the main SEO blog writer for http://blog.peerform.com. My posts (see "Christopher Skyi") helped generate over 2290 page views in a 3-month period. Several industry blogs aggregated several posts (having specifically to do with peer-to-peer lending). This drove traffic to the blog and created inbound links. Additionally an active link building program that included targeted blog post commenting, guest blogging produced 9 highly relevant links (with page rank 5 and higher) to the blog.

SEO, Marketing & Webmaster (HTML & Wordpress) Consultant at at Eva's Village
April 2011
Eva's Village is a Charity Navigator top rated (4 star) anti-poverty organization. I'm helping them get more traffic to their site and get more donations from that traffic.
SPECIFIC WORK AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
1. Google Adwords:
Applied for & received a Google Non-profit Adwords grant. I now manage a Google Adwords account to drive extra traffic to their site and to improve their organic SEO.
2. Ranking:
Currently one or more pages of the site are ranking in the top 10 for 30 non-branded relevant keywords. (Ranking source data: Google Webmaster Tools).
3. Traffic:
Since taking over SEO efforts in early February 2011, as of mid November 2011, traffic is up 21%
compared to the same period a year earlier.
4. Blogging:
The site had a blog, but it was not actively maintained. Since taking over the blog and consistently creating content, blog traffic is up by 70%. Further, the blog was on it's own domain, but I made it part of their main site domain (by installing the blog in a subdirectory) so that the SEO value of their blog would be added to the value of their main website domain. This increased the ranking power of all their content. Also, news sites like the Huffingtonpost.com & the Washingtontimes.com have linked to high quality blog posts passing their pagerank onto the blog.
